World Food Day - Sailors for the Sea

World Food Day

 October 16, 2014  | By: Oceana

The main food source for more than 3.5 billion people comes from the ocean. In the next twenty years this number could double to seven billion who depend on the ocean for their survival.

Simply put, we need a healthy ocean to keep up with the food demands we are placing on it.

Fortunately there are many ways to go about solving this problem! From eating sustainable seafood, to supporting marine protected areas and supporting regulations to prevent illegal fishing you can help support healthy fisheries.
