Our friends at Velocitek, long known for their user-friendly GPS-based sailing instruments have announced the release of a new inertially stabilized magnetic compass called Shift. The instrument is the world’s first compass designed specifically to help sailors identify wind shifts quickly and accurately.

While creating Shift, Velocitek took into consideration the usage of batteries in their instruments and what they could do to make their product better for the environment. This new product has a rechargeable battery that is powered by the solar panel on top! And just in case it is cloudy or you are sailing at night, the solar charged battery is good for over 60 hours.
Additionally, the sale of each Velocitek product benefits Sailors for the Sea’s ocean conservation programs through Velocitek’s commitment to 1% for the Planet!
