Alice Lucy

“Years of competing, coaching, and leading teams have deepened my respect for the marine environment, especially as I’ve seen firsthand how much we rely on nature to power our sport.”

Alice is based in the UK and is the Environmental Programme Officer at the RYA, where she leads The Green Blue programme. She holds a BSc in Geography from Loughborough University and an MSc in Global Sustainability Solutions from the University of Exeter. During her postgraduate studies, Alice completed a research internship with World Sailing, developing a Climate Risk Framework for the bidding process of World Championship events.  

Alice is a competitive Team and Match Racer, having won the BUSA Team Racing Championships and the RYA Women’s Match Racing Nationals, and she is now beginning to compete on the international match racing circuit. 

Through both her professional and personal sailing, Alice is passionate about promoting and embedding practical sustainability solutions within the sport. She is committed to reducing sailing’s environmental impacts while also advancing social and economic sustainability, ensuring the sport remains accessible and resilient for the future.
